Hover or focus links in the navigation. The preload plugin requests the next page before the click.

Swup handles hover preloading, in-memory page cache, top progress, history, head updates, and
#swup container replacement.
Click path
On click, swup uses the preloaded page if ready, or waits for the in-flight request and then swaps the main container.
Cache
Pages are cached in memory for the current browser session, not in localStorage.
Progress
A thin progress line appears at the top during navigation requests.
